Pregnancy

We can be reasonably certain a woman is not pregnant if she:

  • had not had sex since last menses
  • has used reliable contraception correctly & consistently
  • is within the first 7 days of the onset of a normal menstrual period
  • within 4 weeks postpartum (non-breastfeeding)
  • within 6 months post partum and is amenorrhoeic and is fully or nearly fully breastfeeding
  • within 7 days post-termination of pregnancy or miscarriage
  • A negative pregnancy test after 3 weeks since last unprotected sexual intercourse
