Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver

Four Stages of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis

  1. Simple fatty liver – largely harmless build up of fat in the liver cells
  2. Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis – more serious – liver becomes inflammed
  3. Fibrosis – where there is persistent inflammation scar tissue is formed around the liver and nearby blood vessels.
  4. Cirrhosis – very serious – liver shrinks and becomes scarred and lumpy – can result in liver failure.
