Four Stages of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis
- Simple fatty liver – largely harmless build up of fat in the liver cells
- Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis – more serious – liver becomes inflammed
- Fibrosis – where there is persistent inflammation scar tissue is formed around the liver and nearby blood vessels.
- Cirrhosis – very serious – liver shrinks and becomes scarred and lumpy – can result in liver failure.
